Welcome to Glass Core Modded, an unforgiving world made out of glass and sand!
This modpack was built on top of the original survival challenge called "Glass Core", which basically was just a specific Superflat setting. The world consists out of a single surface layer of sand and an underground filled with glass, mineshafts and dungeons.
You begin your journey and venture down the vitreous depths of the world. Your advantage: An X-Ray-like overview. Your disadvantage: All resources and vicious mobs!
You may ask yourself: "How in the world do I survive without nothin'?!"
But don't worry! Your task is to conquer the massive mineshafts and numerous dungeons to provide sustenance or you can try to travel the sandy overworld to find single houses and structures. It's possible to gather all kinds of resources but the strategy behind it is crucial!
You can take the Ex Nihilo part and sift day and night or you can take the adventurer part and scavenge all dungeons of Minecraftia. Whatever you do to stay alive, it's up to you!
Eventually you have a nice amount of resources on your hands. What next? Now you can keep yourself busy with your beloved tech mods like Thermal Expansion, Ender IO, Mekanism or IndustrialCraft.
Extend your base, progress through the different tech ages and build the world back up again!
Useful tips:
- Gather some wood and paper to craft a matchbox and relight your torches
- You can find spare ores around lava lakes underground
- Beware the dirt areas in mineshafts, they're usually full of hostile mobs
- Getting to the Nether (or End) is very useful for ores
- Lay down a layer of grass at surface level to let animals spawn
- You can find saplings very early by looking for the tower structure and harvesting the trees
